“Can you hear me” scams
Most of the times, we get a call from a company, and when we pick up the call, we say “Hello.” The person on the other hand immediately reverts to this question – “Can you hear me?” Never revert with a “yes” unless you are sure of the person whom you are speaking to. Scammers can use your “yes” to enrol you to list of subscriptions and monthly newsletters that can spam your emails. On a serious note, your “yes” to any query from these scammers can be used to access your credit card details, bank account details and more. What is the solution? When you get a call from a person or company promising you discount coupons, all-paid tours, and other attractive deals, it should ring an alarm bell in your mind immediately that the caller is trying to lay a honey-trap for you. The safest action that you must take is to hang up, without speaking anything.
