1 This phone number 800-240-9762 keeps calling people saying "FPL shows you have a past due balance and your power will be shut off" I've called the number that pops up in caller ID, unfortunately its a real number for the Water Dept in Vero, they have been getting hundreds of calls. I called the above number and i got a rep named "David" who knew our phone number address and suite number then went on to tell me that we had a past due balance and FPL turned it over to them which is the shut off department and a technician has been dispatched and will be here in 20 minutes to shut off the electric. Shame on them as most of us here in America know its a scam but they will get some poor person who has not idea to pay them money and that's wrong.
